is seeking an ER Department Manager to join our growing team!
ACCESS LA is one of the largest, most advanced, and progressive veterinary multi-specialty groups in So Cal. Our hospital includes Avian & Exotics, Cardiology, Emergency, Neurology, Soft Tissue Surgery. Unique to ACCESS LA, we also offer advanced orthopedic surgery in our nationally renowned Bone and Joint Center, 4 full-time Critical Care specialists to support our ICU, and interventional radiology in Internal Medicine. Job Purpose
Responsible for maintaining a staff that adheres to the principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion and Service. Responsible for the training, performance, scheduling and review of staff. Provide primary point of contact through which all technical questions, comments, concerns and issues can be handled, while on and off premises.
Duties and Responsibilities
Scheduling and performance of interviews and skill assessments for all potential new hires.
Appropriate scheduling of staff to maximize coverage and minimize overtime while recognizing 24/7 case load needs, including coverage of technical responsibilities for patients as needed as well as approval of time off requested.
Share responsibility with the ECC Technician Manager for making sure all Cubex machines are fully stocked and all necessary maintenance on the Cubex machines are performed.
Provision of medical, behavioral, and performance expectations to specialty technical staff.
Oversight, with the guidance of Hospital Administrator, of staff performance, ensuring quality control and consistency of technical task completion.
Performance of staff review on a regular basis to ensure staff members are provided clear expectations and understand how they perform compared to expectations.
Communication with Hospital Administrator on specialty equipment performance and maintenance to ensure necessary functionality.
Work closely with Hospital Administrator as well as the entire administrative team to ensure consistent practices throughout the hospital.
Act as primary person for resource management of staff.
As assigned by Hospital Administrator, oversee training of staff in various areas of technical skills pertinent to their specific specialty department.
Responsible for being primary key-holder OR Cubex resource as needed.
Responsible for scheduling regular staff meetings and verifying that all action items from each meeting are handled before eliminating them from the list of items to complete.
General facility oversight and knowledge, including handling or delegation of first response for urgent specialty department needs.
Responsible for upholding the spirit of ACCESS by handling all necessary tasks that require attention.

Compensation
$80k to $95k - to be determined based upon experience/skill set.
Schedule
5 days a week, 1 weekend shift per week is required.
Qualifications
The ER Manager should ideally possess 2+ years of leadership experience. RVT preferred, but not required.
Must be an excellent leader.
Must be well organized and able to multi-task effectively.
