Overview
Barge Design Solutions is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Aviation Planner to support our growing aviation practice, reporting to our Nashville office. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping airport and aviation system planning efforts across the region, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in aviation planning, airport master planning, and FAA coordination, along with a passion for enhancing transportation infrastructure. You will contribute to a variety of projects including airport layout plans (ALPs), master plans, environmental documentation, and strategic planning initiatives.

Responsibilities

Performsairport planning activities as part of a larger planning team

Workscollaboratively with engineering teams to support design projects

Participatesin the production of high-quality exhibits and documents to communicate the results of the planning study elements

Leadsplanning projects and working closely with our clients; ability to operatewith autonomy and ownership over assigned work

Contributessignificantly to the overall success of Barge Design Solutions, Barge’sAviation team and the team’s projects

Collects,analyses and disseminates data to support airport planning projects

Supportsenvironmental permitting requirements and site selection studies in accordance with FAA Advisory Circulars and Orders

Performsobstruction analysis, land use studies, and facility requirements analysisto support airfield planning

Conductssite visits and field inspections

Attend client and stakeholder meetings,documenting decisions

Education & Experience Qualifications

Bachelor'sdegree in aviation management, aeronautical science, planning,engineering, or a related field

Entrylevel - 4 years of experience in aviation planning, or similar experience

Possessesa genuine interest in the aviation industry and eagerness to grow withinthe field preferred

Possessesstrong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

Interactswith employees, other consultants, clients, and others with respect andprofessionalism

Abilityto work in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Abilityto work in a collaborative, team environment and is responsive todeadlines

Demonstratesan understanding of airport planning issues/solutions and ability toundertake technical assignments

Knowledgeof FARs, FAA Advisory Circulars, and FAA orders that apply to airportplanning is preferred

2years of experience in a consulting firm environment preferred

Abilityto work in AutoCAD and GIS software preferred

Pursuingcertifications (AICP, AAAE CM, PMP), as appropriate
