Sector Independence Consultation Network Manager
Risk Management supports our people in managing the risks that arise during our daily working lives. We work closely with all parts of the organization to identify, manage and monitor risk, providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy, security issues, as well as dealing with claims and any queries regarding ethics.
You will have the opportunity to develop your career by working closely with other Financial Services Organization’s (FSO) Independence and Service Line professionals on a broad scope of engagements, mentoring and formal learning. As an Independence Consultation Network Manager, you’ll help engagement teams in FSO make educated, thoughtful decisions on Risk Management. You will consult on various independence policies and procedures and participate in Public Company Independence Procedures.
Your key responsibilities
Help Region teams comply with the firm’s Independence and Quality & Risk Management (Qrm) policies and related regulations when working with clients, vendors and others.
Consult on one or more Independence policies, procedures or processes, including non‑audit services, Public Company Independence Procedures, Personal Independence matters, and policy violations or regulatory breaches.
Interact with executive level personnel across the Americas, and across broad service and industry lines, serving as an ambassador for QRM.
Lead a team, assign and delegate work assignments, review performance, and train others.
Skills and attributes for success
Ability to use knowledge gained from in‑depth client service to resolve Independence policy and procedure issues, violations and concerns.
Experience managing client relationships to meet or exceed expectations, advising what to expect and when, and listening and responding to client needs.
Understanding of the key requirements of regulators’ independence rules and firm policies.
Knowledge of Risk Management areas outside of independence.
Ability to identify emerging risks and propose solutions to address related concerns.
To qualify for the role, you must have
Project management skills to handle multiple projects and initiatives concurrently.
Strategic thinking and ability to handle complex concepts.
Problem‑solving across multiple service lines, industry sectors and geographic areas.
Proficiency at driving and adapting to change.
Competence in delivering tough messages to executive leaders within the firm.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Strong listening and interpretation skills.
Good working knowledge of emerging technology.
7+ years of related work experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Ideally, you will have
A valid CPA license with audit experience.
Significant independent judgment and discretion when analyzing complex issues and risks across industry and service lines.
A demonstrated capability to thrive in ambiguous circumstances.
Understanding of emerging technologies and corresponding business disruptions.
Using your knowledge and experience to identify appropriate opportunities and solutions per the firm’s Independence and related policies and regulations.
