DMA Engineering – Associate Principal Engineer
Are you someone who takes initiative and sees projects through to completion? Do you thrive in an environment where there is always something meaningful to work on? Are you passionate about the building industry and eager to make a real impact?
DMA Engineering is looking for a driven and proactive Associate Principal Engineer to join our team. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, bring ideas to life, solve complex challenges, and work with the latest tools and technologies. We value curiosity, ownership, and a mindset focused on continuous learning and improvement.
We are seeking an engineer who is self-sufficient, resourceful, and confident in making decisions. You will manage priorities, drive projects forward, and service commercial and residential clients while collaborating with a supportive and experienced team.
Why This Role is Exciting
This is a rare opportunity for an engineer ready to own their impact. As an Associate Principal Engineer, you will translate vision into strategy and execution, making a real difference on projects and for clients. This Associate Principal position within the company is an equity offer.
You will join a founder‑run, entrepreneurial team that values sustainable eMEP design to push beyond standard practice and deliver smarter, higher‑performing buildings. This is your chance to take ownership, see your work in action, and help shape the future direction of the company.
What You Will Do
This role leads the production side of the company and is ideal for an engineer who wants to take ownership and make a real impact. You will:
Manage multiple projects at various stages of the project life cycle

Perform engineering work from energy modeling and design to writing commissioning plans
Handle engineering projects from start to finish while knowing when and how to delegate tasks to team members or subcontractors

What We Are Looking For
You are driven to do more than the basics. You have demonstrated growth beyond your Professional Engineer license, such as an advanced degree or professional certifications. You are curious, willing to learn new skills, and ready to explore new areas of engineering.
You communicate clearly with your team, support others in their growth, and thrive in a task‑driven environment with ambitious goals. You excel when direct teamwork is required – both in-person collaboration and virtual work.
