Build Up High School Internship Construction Management

DPR Construction is seeking motivated high school students to join our Build Up High School Internship in Construction Management. Tool belts are not required! This hands-on internship offers students a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with a professional project team on an active commercial construction jobsite.
Interns will gain real-world exposure to how multi-million-dollar buildings are planned, coordinated, and built, while learning about the wide range of careers that make construction projects successfulfrom project management and scheduling to safety, technology, and design coordination.
What You Will Do
With the guidance of a dedicated mentor team, interns will work 3540 hours per week on an active jobsite and support essential construction management functions, including:
Assisting with subcontractor coordination and communication
Supporting document control and project tracking
Participating in quality inspections and site walks
Learning jobsite safety practices and participating in safety training
Helping update schedules, site plans, and project documentation
Completing a variety of entry-level construction management assignments, both alongside mentors and independently (Exact responsibilities will vary depending on the assigned project).
What You Will Learn
The Build Up Internship is designed to support both career exploration and personal growth. Through hands-on experience and structured mentorship, interns will:
Explore career and education pathways within construction management
Set and reflect on personal goals through an 8-week Capstone Project
Develop communication, teamwork, and professional skills in a professional work environment
Build confidence through presentations and project-based learning
Learn how to ask questions, receive feedback, and collaborate effectively as part of a team

Compensation
Paid hourly internship
Anticipated pay range: $21.00 $27.00 per hour
Eligibility Requirements
Rising high school juniors or seniors, or May graduates

Legally authorized to work in the United States
Demonstrated interest in construction, engineering, or the built environment
Ability to commit to an 8-week internship, up to 40 hours per week (Dates are flexible to accommodate summer schedules)
Ability to commute to a jobsite daily (Hours are flexible to accommodate transportation needs; click HERE for project addresses)
