Job Overview

Position Title: Adjunct - Biology
Classification: Adjunct Faculty—Part‑time up to 18 semester hours per academic year.
Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses up to 18 semester hours within the August through May academic year.
Prepare and file course syllabi, learning objectives, and related materials with the Associate Dean or program director.
Compile and submit a list of required textbooks, review materials, and bibliographic resources for each course.
Submit instructional material requests (books, maps, audiovisual aids) to support planning.
Maintain accurate records of class attendance, grades, and submit to the Registrar.
Promote student participation in extracurricular activities.
Adhere to all state educator certification requirements, where applicable.
Pursue professional development through reading, study, and participation in professional organizations.
Assist the public in understanding college progress and development.
Use available test scores and records to assess student capabilities and challenges.
Cooperate with the administration in conducting research and related activities.
Enforce college rules and regulations regarding student conduct.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate Dean or program director.
Qualifications

Minimum Education: Master’s degree in the subject matter field or a valid vocational certificate for vocational‑technical programs.
