
Site EHS Supervisor

Position Summary
The Site Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for supporting the EHS Excellence across the two manufacturing plants under his/her scope located in Defiance, OH and Bridgeton, MO. This role provides hands‑on leadership to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace, while supporting operational excellence. The Site EHS Manager will deliver EHS training, provide in‑field coaching, perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and support the deployment of effective control measures. The role will also lead chemical product screening, environmental compliance activities, incident investigations, and ensure full alignment with OSHA and Environmental regulations and Corporate EHS Policies and Programs.
Essential Functions
Provide close coaching and support to Plant Managers and staff on achieving a zero injury work environment.
Implement and maintain EH&S programs and policies to minimize and eliminate safety risks and occupational hazards associated with work practices.
Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and support local teams on control measures deployment.
Deliver EHS training and provide front line coaching to staff, managers and employees.
Manage key performance indicators (most importantly, leading indicators) to track the progress of EHS on a regular basis.
Manage, coordinate and implement the Company Critical To Life standards within the sites.
Participate on teams responsible for implementing new products and processes.
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine the cause and recommend changes to work practices or equipment to minimize or eliminate future safety risks.
Investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting and other conditions affecting the health, comfort, and efficiency of employees.
Prepare safety and compliance reports as required by management and outside regulatory agencies.
Ensure all sites are compliant with applicable governmental regulations, including OSHA and Environmental Agencies Standards and Requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and the EH&S culture.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an EH&S related science or engineering field. Professional certification as a CSP is required for this role.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with an emphasis in EH&S program management, with experience within Food, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industries.
Willingness to travel up to 30%.
Positive and motivated self‑starter with a successful track record in a changing environment; excellent organizational, teamwork and prioritization skills are essential.
Ability to communicate with clarity, impact and passion to help drive a growing EH&S program, and to collaborate across all levels of the organization to enable and drive change.
Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills.
