Location:
Warren County Career Center – Adult Education, Main Campus
Work Hours:
Part-time, up to 28 hours per week (Monday‑Thursday evenings 5:00‑9:30)
Responsibilities
Designs meaningful and sequential instruction with relevant learning activities to meet course objectives
Teaches curriculum designed by NCCER
Ensures specific skills related to HVAC work are developed
Demonstrates the proper use of equipment and tools
Assists students with certification assessment preparation
Revise courses in conjunction with the Coordinator of Advanced Manufacturing to stay up‑to‑date with advances in the industry
Promotes the program and recruits students through a variety of activities
Adheres to all safety standards and industry practices, and is responsible for the care and maintenance of classroom and laboratory facilities, equipment and materials
Works with program advisory committee to advance program innovations, evaluate the significance of emerging technology, create opportunities for students, and ensure program standards and activities are relevant to the needs of business and industry
Fosters and builds relationships with other programs and instructors as well as with industry leaders and employers in our community
Helps to build awareness and understanding of our HVAC program among vendors, suppliers, builders, and residential and commercial contractors and companies to improve student job placement
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A love for teaching and strong interest in changing students’ lives
Verifiable experience as a lead service technician and/or service manager
Five years of recent HVAC experience in residential and commercial settings
Previous teaching experience is preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Valid Licensure/Permit by the Ohio Department of Education as an Adult Education Instructor (or willingness to obtain the credential)
Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment and can successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check after a job offer
Maintains compliance with Board policies and other applicable procedures/guidelines
Salary
$31.08 per hour
