Description
Huntington's Associate Capital Markets Derivatives is a vital member of the Capital Markets Interest Rate Derivatives team, dedicated to providing outstanding service to corporate and institutional clients. This role combines operational precision, market expertise, and proactive client engagement to deliver customized interest rate derivative solutions aligned with clients’ business objectives. This opportunity provides hands‑on experience in interest rate markets, direct interaction with clients, and collaboration with experienced professionals in Sales and Trading. It is an ideal starting point for individuals aspiring to build a career in interest rate derivatives or capital markets.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with Interest Rate Derivatives colleagues to service commercial clients by participating in meetings and calls, addressing inquiries, and offering technical support for interest rate derivative products.
Support the onboarding of new clients by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Develop client‑facing materials—including proposals, presentations, and market updates—to strengthen relationships and support cross‑selling initiatives.
Identify new business opportunities by analyzing loan portfolios, pipelines, trading books, and client portfolios.
Work closely with internal teams, including trading, risk management, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless client service and efficient workflow.
Expand knowledge of global financial markets and corporate risk management practices.
Monitor and interpret interest rate markets, macroeconomic indicators, and relevant news to provide timely updates and recommendations to the sales team and clients.
Basic Qualifications
3 or more years of experience in banking or financial services, within derivatives or capital markets.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong analytical and communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg or similar trading platforms is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Professional, team‑oriented approach with a commitment to delivering superior client service.
