CNC Swiss Machine Operator

Join a precision-driven manufacturing team as a CNC Swiss Machine Operator, where you will operate and monitor CNC Swiss machines to produce high-quality parts in a clean, medical-focused environment. You will set up and start machines, perform basic inspections, and ensure parts meet specifications using blueprints and quality tools.
Responsibilities

Operate a cell of 12 CNC Swiss machines in a manufacturing environment.
Start and set up assigned CNC machines at the start of the shift.
Load raw material into CNC machines and ensure correct material usage.
Read and interpret basic blueprints to verify that parts meet specifications.
Perform minor inspections on parts during production to maintain quality.
Conduct first-piece inspections to validate setups and tooling before running full production.
Identify and clearly mark nonconforming or visually defective parts.
Perform minor deburring of parts as needed to meet quality and finish requirements.
Monitor tooling condition during production and identify when tooling needs replacement.
Use calipers, gauges, and other basic quality tools to measure and verify part dimensions.
Follow established safety procedures and wear required protective equipment at all times.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with medical manufacturing standards.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address production or quality issues promptly.
Essential Skills

At least 6 months of CNC operating experience on lathe or Swiss machines.
Ability to read and interpret basic manufacturing blueprints.
Previous experience using quality tools such as calipers and gauges.
Basic understanding of CNC machine operation and production workflows.
Attention to detail and ability to identify visual defects in parts.
Capability to perform first-piece inspections and minor in-process checks.
Reliability in starting machines and managing assigned equipment at the start of each shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in medical or aerospace manufacturing environments.
Previous experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Comfort working in a clean, regulated production environment.
Willingness to work assigned shifts and occasional overtime as needed.

Work Environment

You will work in a very clean, medical-focused manufacturing environment that requires adherence to safety and cleanliness standards, including wearing eye protection. The facility operates multiple shift options, including a MondayThursday shift from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. with potential overtime on Fridays and occasional Saturdays, typically for partial shifts. There is also an alternative weekend shift from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with pay structured for a 40-hour week. The environment uses CNC Swiss machines, lathes, and standard quality tools such as calipers and gauges, and emphasizes organization, precision, and consistent product quality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, IN.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
