Administrative Specialist
Purpose: To improve student achievement by performing a variety of moderately complex clerical, record processing, general office or production word processing work in direct support of an office. The Music and Drama Program Office seeks an outstanding individual to serve as an Administrative Specialist. Housed in Curriculum and Instruction, the Program Office oversees and manages the district's performing arts programs and this role reports directly to the Coordinator of Music and Drama as a member of a three-person team.
The successful candidate possesses deep knowledge and understanding of various district systems including MUNIS (personnel management), Fiscal Office processes and budget management, SharePoint (internal faculty web resources), and Aesop/Frontline (absence management). Additionally, the role leans heavily on being a first-line contact for our 100+ faculty and be able to work closely with the office staff for our 65 schools. As such, strong skills in building and sustaining positive relationships that further support the program's mission is paramount. Additional useful skills would include knowledge of Synergy (student data management) and the ability to learn and monitor our central inventory system.
The Program Office oversees and manages many programs and events that can require evening work. Such events include our various All-City honors programs, Project Chamber Music, and the numerous festivals held in the spring that serve our K-12 music programs. The Salem-Keizer music program is recognized regionally and nationally for its excellence and for the community support of its programs.
