Mental Health Associate I
Hourly Pay Range: $24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Hours: 7:00 AM -3:30 PM / 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
A Brief Overview
The Mental Health Associate I provides direct patient care to patients with mental health disorders. The Mental Health Associate I performs treatment planning and implementation while facilitating groups within assigned treatment programs. The Mental Health Associate I ensures the safety and well-being of these patients by maintaining a safe environment and documents according to department/organization procedures.
What You Will Do
Facilitates didactic, educational and unit/program community groups within the assigned treatment programs. Encourages and facilitates patients' participation in therapeutic activities. Supervises patients to ensure their safety and their involvement in treatment.
Ensures patient safety by providing one-to-one supervision. Unit rounds are conducted, and precautions records completed in real time. Precautions records are accurately labeled.
Orients new patients to unit, program and milieu by establishing a rapport with patients and families and making necessary introductions. Provides appropriate hand off information when accepting or receiving borders from other units.
Participates in treatment planning by working with interdisciplinary team to identify patients' problems, needs and strengths, suggests modifications to treatment plan based on observation of patient behavior and provides input into discharge planning.
Completes patient, program, and department documentation.
Performs various clerical and administrative assignments to support department operations.
Monitors and reports patients' progress and communicates information to charge person on assigned shift and family members.
What You Will Need
Education and/or Experience Required:
A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Behavioral Health related field, no previous experience or
A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a non-Behavioral Health related field, a minimum of one year of behavioral health experience
Maintain information as highly confidential
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision
Education and/or Experience Preferred:
Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology
Skills in teaching or assisting with activities of daily living
Prior experience with therapeutic limit-setting and milieu management
Licensure and/or Certification Required:
A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days of hire
Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross
