Ortho Registered Dental Assistant

Qualifications

Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
1 year minimum of Orthodontic Dental Assisting experience
Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience is a Huge Plus!
Bilingual (Spanish) is required
Essential Functions

Assist with Orthodontist in treating patient
Instruct patient of elastic treatment
Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
Mixing amalgam, cement, and preparing impression materials
Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
Placing and cementing bands
Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
Taking patient initial, progress, and de-bond photos
Taking scans of patients for clear aligners or models
Physical Requirements

Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
