Telemetry Unit
Baptist Health Louisville has eight Telemetry/Medical-Surgical units in the main hospital. Each unit consists of 21 private rooms. The staff provides intermediate-level care for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of different medical diagnoses. Each unit fosters teamwork that allows the nurse to function successfully in meeting the needs of our patients. All of the units provide high-level, fast-paced, patient and family-centered care. ACLS is required for all staff. New graduates are welcome on each of the Telemetry units.
Job Summary
The Nurse Assistant assists the nursing staff by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties in caring for patients. All functions must be within the scope of training and instruction received and are under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
Provides basic physical care
Assists the patient with meeting nutritional needs
Assists patients with activity as designated
Maintains a safe environment for the patient according to policy and procedure
Performs and documents appropriate procedures according to hospital policy and procedure.
Participates in responsibilities of the unit.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
CNA preferred.
BLS required
