To assist the head cook in serving students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth.
Preferably knowledgeable and experienced in food preparation.
Demonstrates cooperativeness and willingness to acquire added skills in the area of nutrition and related areas.
Regularly required to walk, talk and listen. Required to stand for long periods of time. Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Able to lift 50 pounds to head level, when required. Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend and walk without limitations.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
To serve students attractive and nutritious meals in a friendly, efficient, and clean atmosphere.
To assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
To assume responsibility for seeing to it that the supply of food offered is replenished regularly during meal service periods.
To assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen and service areas.
To perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the head cook.
To assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused food.
To perform other assigned tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.
Demonstrates reliability as evidenced by attendance records and punctuality.
Properly notifies supervisor and/or designee of absences or tardiness.
Begins and completes work within the allotted time.
Consistently appears in attire appropriate to the work environment.
Demonstrates skill in the use of equipment, including its capabilities, limitations, and appropriate/special application.
Protects the District's resources through appropriate and careful use of supplies and equipment.
Utilizes appropriate body mechanics to aid in the prevention of muscle strain/injury.
