The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and processing blood specimens for laboratory testing in an acute care hospital setting. Reporting to the Director of Laboratory, this role ensures accurate specimen labeling, processing, and timely delivery for testing. The Phlebotomist performs blood collection using age-appropriate techniques, maintains laboratory equipment and supplies, and supports daily operational needs. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the coordination and execution of blood drives, including donor interviewing and screening. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the capacity to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while taking appropriate action when needed.

Applicants should have:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Approved Nationally accredited training course or program in Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or NHA required
Basic Life Support certification
