Driver Position

The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) seeks a responsible and reliable candidate for the position of Driver. The Driver is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation to programs and events offered by the Harry and Rose Samson Family JCC. The Driver is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the bus is safe to operate. These functions include compliance with state, local, and Federal licensing standards, as well as adhering to the policies and philosophy of the JCC.
Driving needs vary throughout the week, and we're able to work with individual availability to build a schedule that works for you.
Our primary driving needs are:
Tuesday and Thursday Evenings: 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Sunday: Shifts are scheduled as needed and times vary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Transport program participants of all ages for programs and events offered by the Harry and Rose Samson Family JCC
Verify absences of participants and maintain a correct roster at all times
Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times
Obey all traffic laws
Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
Ensure safety of all students
Discipline children when required to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Assist students with getting on and off the bus when required
Attend team meetings
Actively promotes and practices the organization's Positive Rules of Communication
Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements (KSAs)
Demonstrated effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; customer-service orientation with specific strength in diplomacy and discretion strongly preferred
Demonstrated skills in effective interpersonal skills necessary to work with young children, parents/guardians, and other faculty
Ability to listen and seek clarification, respond effectively to questions, adapt to changes in the work environment and cope with frequent change, delays and unexpected events
Ability to carry out assigned route on time
Education and/or Experience
Must be 25 years or older
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
High School diploma or GED required
Minimum of 1-2 years' driving experience
Current CPR and First Aid certification for infants, children and adults
