No remote work is available during probation. Remote work is available for a portion of most weeks and determined by team schedules.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and two years of clerical or customer service experience.
Substitution of Experience for Education: Clerical or customer service experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Substitution of Education for Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate or bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Applicants for this class may be required to possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and personal vehicle insurance.
Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions.
Overview
Under general supervision, processes incoming documents and payments of routine difficulty. This is the advanced working level class in the Revenue Processing Data Specialist series. An employee in this class independently processes incoming mail, reviews documents and payments for accuracy and timeliness, scans documents and payments, and complete data entry into various systems. This class differs from the Revenue Processing Data Specialist 2* in that a Revenue Processing Data Specialist 2* performs work of routine difficulty and not independently.
Responsibilities
Process incoming mail grouping documents and checks into batches, verifying for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
Scans documents and payments and index and verify documents that are scanned.
Complete data entry of alphanumeric data from both hard copy and scanned images using the proper data capture procedures for the document type.
Prepare documents for storage and archiving.
Verify that documents and payments balance.
Complete data entry with speed and accuracy and identify documents and payments in error prior to entry into various systems.
Performs routine equipment cleaning and maintenance and to assist technical personnel in identifying and resolving problems with equipment.
May be required to assist in testing systems, training others, completing projects and leading staff in processing documents and payments.
