Job Description
As a finishing helper, you will be responsible for activities that take place in the finishing center. You may be assigned to tasks that include packaging cut rolls according to customer specifications, operating the manual packaging line, cutting cores, strapping, re-reeling, shipping, and receiving. This position may be subject to rotations.
The finishing helper plays an important role. In this capacity, you will also be responsible for:
sorting, labeling, and packaging finished products for shipment, according to customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices;
inspecting the overall appearance of the finished product;
keeping the area supplied with packaging materials necessary for the work;
preparing cores for machine operators;
communicating and coordinating necessary information to relevant staff of the shift/department to ensure operational efficiency;
tracking multiple packaged orders at the same time;
continually looking to improve quality and productivity;
maintaining a clean and safe work area;
performing tasks and audits related to the 5S program;
assisting with equipment maintenance, as indicated;
participating in team problem-solving efforts and continuous improvement activities;
performing cutting and re-reeling of rolls;
executing any other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
High school diploma required or equivalent.
