They should be an enthusiastic and creative early childhood teacher passionate about fostering a learning environment that sparks curiosity and wonder.
Requirements:
Minimum of two years of related teaching experience in an early childhood setting
Deep understanding of child development
A high level of energy and initiative
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
Provide a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment in which children can develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
Create engaging and inclusive lesson plans that cater to a diverse range of learning needs
Implement effective classroom management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
Assess and document children’s progress
Communicate student progress with families through teacher-led conferences and report card writing
Update the classroom webpage with photos, links, and weekly newsletters
Engage with the Early Childhood Director, Learning Specialist, and homeroom teachers during weekly grade-level meetings.
Collaborate with colleagues by actively attending and engaging in faculty and department meetings
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $60,000 – 100,000
The TIAA-CREF retirement annuity, up to 7.5% employer contribution
60% tuition remission for the children of faculty and staff, plus additional need-based aid as applicable
Complimentary Extended Day for the children of faculty and staff
50-100% tuition remission for Summer@WES for the children of faculty and staff
9 days of PTO, plus an additional three weeks of summer leave for 12-month employees
