Weekend Production Supervisor
Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) in Tucson, AZ is looking for a Weekend Production Supervisor. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position is the first level of authority in the workplace by providing leadership, coaching, and clear direction to ensure that the hourly workforce is working safely, meeting customer demands, solving problems, eliminating waste, and meeting goals. Direct reports include the incumbent's respective area's and shift's hourly reports. The incumbent communicates with all levels of personnel and management in the Operations and EHS Departments, as well as with the respective plant's production scheduler and planner. Externally, they communicate with vendors.
Weekend shift schedule: Friday
Sunday; 5:00AM
6:00PM
Roles and responsibilities:
Assigns and leads workflow throughout the production floor to meet daily production goals
Provides direction in order to meet company goals
Identifies gaps and opportunities to increase throughput and prevent downtime or bottlenecks in production
Actively leads production team in product and process improvement
Solves problems to their root cases to prevent recurrence
Perform reviews, assessments and feedback of operators' performance
Reviews daily time and attendance tracking of employees; ensuring adequate staffing levels for shifts
Facilitates compliance with company safety, housekeeping, attendance policies and practices
Addresses interpersonal conflict issues with the team to maintain a professional work environment; performing counseling and progressive discipline as needed
Troubleshoots manufacturing issues
Provide direction to operators and make recommendations for coaching and counseling action
Participates in hiring decisions regarding operators
Investigates accidents or near misses that occur with the Safety Manager
Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers
Helps to ensure that quality and safety standards for the department are adhered to and maintained
Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required
Adheres to Howmet EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment in a supervisory role.
Must be familiar with a variety of manufacturing processes.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
