Pulmonary Clinic/Practice Assistant

Wentworth Health Partners (WHP), an affiliate of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and member of Mass General Brigham Medical Group, offers Pulmonary Care at 10 Members Way in Dover, NH. This practice provides specialized services for patients with pulmonary and respiratory diseases. Services include treatment for obstructive and restrictive lung diseases, respiratory failure, lung cancer, occupational lung disease, and more.
We're hiring a per-diem Clinic/Practice Assistant to join our Pulmonary team! The practice is open Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. In this role, you'll help fill staffing gaps caused by call-outs, vacations, leaves, and vacancies. Clinic/Practice Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to administrative support, our Clinic/Practice Assistants serve as the gatekeepers of our practices and ensure that teams are delivering the highest quality experience that exceeds our patients' expectations. We are looking for well-rounded customer service professionals who can multi-task, prioritize, and thrive in a high-volume outpatient setting! Other duties include fielding all incoming telephone calls and routing appropriately, performing referral/diagnostic/lab orders processing duties, monitoring patient flow and waiting room activity, and providing general support to practice leadership, clinicians, and peers.
Job Summary
Performs both administrative and clinical functions to support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations under close to general supervision. Performs basic clerical work and tasks that are repetitive and routine. Administrative duties related to patient visits including scheduling, check-in, check-out duties. Actual job duties may vary by Department.
Qualifications
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience healthcare office experience 0-1 year required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Basic Proficiency with all Office Suite. - Knowledge of office operations and standards and understanding of office procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing. - Ability to use phone system and manage more non-routine phone calls and solve routine issues as appropriate. - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience and Talking to others to convey information effectively. - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, to correspond and communicate with others clearly and effectively (including composing/editing e-mail, memos and letters), and to take complete and accurate messages. - Managing one's own time and the time of others. - Well organized and good time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively, follow established protocols, and work within systems.

Preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare or customer service, ideally within a medical office setting, along with demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and strong computer skills.
