Welder II
As a Welder II with Safco, you will set up and perform all functions of welding which are essential to our business that meet cosmetic quality standards.
This full-time position reports directly to the designated Production Supervisor and is located at Safco's manufacturing plant in Milford, IA.
Duties and Responsibilities
Setup and perform welding per prints including (spot welding, robotic welder and MIG welding)
Any required finishing of the product to meet workmanship standard (grinding and sanding)
Enter work order data required for labor reporting into the computer system
Use inspection equipment and review blueprints to ensure work is meeting or exceeding quality standards
Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor.
Work in a manner that emphasizes safety of self and others. Follows all health and safety policies and guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Experience and Skills
High School diploma or GED
3+ years of weld experience
Proven experience reading blue prints and using inspection equipment/measuring devices
Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.
Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing and data entry.
Ability to use math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
Excellent communication skills and a high degree of responsiveness and empathy for internal and external customers.
Preferred metal fabrication and welding background.
Prior work experience with JDE/Oracle in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Experience in a high variety, low to mid-volume manufacturing environment a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting pay rate for this position is $ 23.50 per hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
