Senior Machine Operator

This is a rotating position responsibilities include:
Perform weaving operations across all machine and product types
Perform smashing operations across all machine and product types
Complete re-reed processes for all applicable machine and product types
Provide relief and breaks for associates as assigned
Conduct draw checks to verify correct setup and alignment
Perform tieback checks to ensure proper execution and quality standards
Complete DTM inspections using tablet technology across various product lines
Conduct style change checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
Scan and distribute documentation via email as required
Prepare and distribute speed letters as needed
Identify and correct bad warps to maintain product quality
Properly straighten ends on creel weaving machines
Perform warper creel quality checks
Clean contaminated or dirty filling material
Identify and repair S and Z streak defects
Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with all associates to resolve quality or process issues
Investigate and respond to PPI quality calls after 5:00 PM and on weekends, as needed
Follow established reaction plans to make timely and appropriate quality decisions
Minimum qualifications include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Quality control experience preferred
Manufacturing or textile experience preferred but not required
Ability to read production instructions, quality specifications, and safety documents
Must be proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and email
Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour shift
Must be able to obtain 1st responder certification within 6 months of employment
Physical requirements include:
Standing or walking for 12 hours or more per shift
Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or seated) during equipment operation
Ability to move/traverse the production floor, including accessing creel areas, equipment, and materials
Ability to lift and carry production materials (spools, bobbins, resin containers, waste packages), typically up to 50 lbs.
Stooping, bending, reaching overhead, and occasional ladder/platform climbing
Ability to operate machine controls, touchscreens, tools, and adjustments requiring fine motor skills
Ability to sustain repetitive motions during extended production runs
Ability to visually inspect products, monitor displays, and identify non-conforming conditions
Ability to tolerate heat, temperature variations, and abnormal environmental conditions typical of manufacturing
Work environment includes:
Work is performed primarily on the production floor, near moving machinery and ongoing process lines
Noise levels vary; hearing protection may be required
Exposure to fibers, lint, dust, and particulates typical of textile operations
Exposure to heat from extrusion zones and fluctuating seasonal temperatures
Work may involve tight/confined areas, ladder use, and navigating around machinery
Required use of PPE: safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and other items per task area
