Packaging Position

Pack or package by hand a wide variety of products and materials, following instruction on the Job Traveler and departmental procedures. Associated tasks may include sorting, stacking, counting, weighing, preparing shipment paperwork, & moving materials. This is a Monday-Friday position 9:00am-5:00pm.
Essential Functions

Read, comprehends and follow packaging instructions; or follows department protocol for proper packaging.
Performs visual inspections if directed by Cell Lead.
Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools.
Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers by hand or using simple hand tools.
Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
Places products or parts into containers, with appropriate protective wrappings.
Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
Record product, packaging, and shipping information in software, following established procedures.
Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
Seal containers, preparing them for shipping, following instructions on Traveler or Router.
Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them in specified racks or carts.
Move completed packages to shipping/receiving dock, using pallet jacks, carts.

Skills & Abilities

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: No prior experience necessary
Computer Skills: Ability to record time & work tasks and retrieve work instructions & schedules on company computer system.
Other Requirements: Ability to perform work with accuracy and efficiency in a fast paced environment.
