Grading Stamper A Shift
Location: Cactus, TX, United States
Responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Log into the computer on a daily basis before carcasses get to work station to verify that the Grading system is operational
Detailed documentation of system checks and any issues
Be able to understand USDA Beef Grading Standards
Able to multi-task by reading monitor and applying correct grade
Quality Grade and Yield Grade application by using a USDA provided grading hammer
Be able to identify heifers and steers
Must be able to catch mistakes and balance on work station throughout the entire day
Work directly alongside upper management, as well as USDA personnel
Daily work tasks are fairly structured
Qualifications:
Must be able to rotate to different positions in Grading Department
Computer experience and attention to detail
Working Conditions:
Physical demands of this job are minimal, but daily tasks may cause stress
Hazards faced include chemicals, moving carcasses
Work area is rather noisy with many slippery floors
Temperature in work area is very cold on a consistent basis
Employee will typically work 40-45 hours per week with overtime pay being paid out over 40 hours
Days worked will typically be M-F with some Saturday work if necessary

Education Requirements:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred, but not required
Minimum 1 year experience in a packing plant
Special Skills:

10 Key Pad knowledge
Bilingual important, but not mandatory as long as translators are nearby
