Custodial Shift Supervisor
The Office of Physical Plant (OPP) is seeking applicants for a Custodial Shift Supervisor within our Custodial Services department. This position will lead, supervise, and direct staff and technical service personnel to deliver responsive, quality, and cost-effective custodial services.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day custodial operations for second and third shifts across University Park facilities
Manage all aspects of staff supervision, including:
Hiring and training
Scheduling
Performance management and discipline
The Custodial Shift Supervisor must also:
Effectively utilize and steward human, financial, and material resources
Interact and coordinate with internal and external departments to accomplish mutual goals
Support OPP's mission to advance the University's objectives
This position directly influences the cleanliness of facilities, impacting students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Decisions made by the Custodial Shift Supervisor affect:
Employee performance, attitude, and morale
Efficiency, productivity, service delivery, and cost
Financial outcomes, including internal operating budgets and external University budgets (e.g., research funding)
Work Schedule
Typical Hours: 4:30 p.m.
1:00 a.m. (subject to coverage needs)
Days: Monday through Friday
Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications
Associate Degree; 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted. Required Certifications: None
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
