Medical Assistant

The medical assistant performs both clinical and administrative duties to support healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, recording patient history, and managing medical records.
Clinical Duties

Taking and recording patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
Measuring and recording patient medical history and personal information.
Administering medications.
Administrative Duties

Scheduling patient appointments and managing the check-in/check-out process.
Maintaining and updating patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR) into homeless management information system (HMIS).
Handling phone calls and responding to patient inquiries.
Maintaining inventory and ordering medical supplies.
Preparing patient charts and completing paperwork.
Requirements

Education and Experience:
High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training course at a vocational/technical school.
Proof and maintenance of active RMA or CMA throughout employment required.
Minimum of one-year work experience, preferred.
Must have and maintain BLS certification.
At least 1 year experience with crises intervention, medical assistance, and/or homelessness services preferred

Demonstrated proficiency with computers and standard office equipment: Windows, MS Office, and email
