Laser Operator
The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a laser cutting machine to cut stainless and mild steel parts. The Laser Operator must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and operate the laser cutting machine accordingly. The Laser Operator is also responsible for performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the laser cutting machine. Additionally, the Laser Operator must be able to follow safety procedures and adhere to safety regulations.
Prepare and operate laser cutting machines
Ensure quality of finished parts
Perform regular maintenance on laser machines
Optimize laser cutting processes as needed
Maintain a clean work area and keep equipment in a neat and organized manner
Select proper materials based on material thickness and type
Quality driven for best customer service result while meeting estimates
Goal orientated to be self-driven to meet task related estimated hours to complete jobs
Provide assistance to co-workers as requested by foreman
Final inspection of finished work and timely completion of associated paperwork

The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to grip, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This is a full-time position. Your manager will provide you with the specific details of your schedule. The schedule is subject to change due to customer requirements or business needs. Overtime may be necessary to handle emergencies, heavy workloads or other issues.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected. All travel must be approved in advance by management. Please reference the employee handbook for all applicable policies.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Similar or related product knowledge
