CNC Machinist
QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a CNC Machinist at a company in Schofield, WI. This is a direct hire position for 1st shift.
We are looking for a manufacturing professional with 3+ years of hands-on experience in machine operation, metal finishing, and precision production, with a strong foundation supporting CNC machining environments. Skilled in grinding, deburring, quality inspection, and maintaining tight tolerances while following detailed specifications and safety standards. Mechanically inclined with proven ability to read measurements, troubleshoot equipment issues, and adapt quickly to new technologies, including CNC programming and CAD software.
CNC Machinist Responsibilities:
Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to fabricate precision tool bits according to specifications.
Utilize CAD software to design and modify tool bit prototypes and production parts.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches to understand product requirements and dimensions.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Conduct quality checks on finished products using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the machining process to maintain productivity and quality standards.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize machining processes and improve product designs.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Document production activities, including machine settings, tool changes, and inspection results.
Requirements for CNC Machinist:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in CNC machining preferred. - Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment. - Proficiency in computer operations and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). - Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform complex calculations. - Familiarity with G-code programming language and CNC machine controls. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and machining techniques.
