Traffic Coordinator- Aramid
The Traffic Coordinator will ship and route outbound freight to assure prompt delivery as required by customer's schedule. Must be familiar with all modes of transportation and monitor carrier performance. Process loss or damage claims, keep accurate and complete records to expedite and trace freight movement.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate outbound freight, Domestic and International, to ensure prompt and undamaged delivery.
Determine the appropriate mode of transportation; get quote price and monitor carrier performance.
Responsible for coordinating the transportation plan for inter-company deliveries and vendor pick-ups, utilizing company assets.
Monitor cargo value to freight cost, per shipment.
Compare transportation routes and frequency of shipment destinations in order to achieve lane optimization.
Gain a working knowledge of International Trade (including Free Trade Agreements, Exporting/Importing Standards) and Domestic D.O.T. regulation.
Process all documentation as related to export, interface with brokers, customers, and freight forwarders, etc.
Monitor and trace freight shipments for customers, domestic and international.
Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
Compile weekly reports.
Process freight claims for freight damaged in transit.
Communicate with production supervisors and customer service on shipping methods, product ship dates and transit times.
Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment, and methods.
Handle internal and external questions in a prompt, professional manner.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Continually look for ways to improve job efficiency and performance.
Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least one year of progressively more responsible experience
A professional level of knowledge in a specialized field equivalent to that ordinarily acquired by completing a four-year baccalaureate program.
Additional Requirements :
Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
