Mix Pasteurizer (Night Shift)

This position must pasteurize an assortment of mixes before they can be packaged, as well as has shared responsibilities in maintaining the company's SQF food safety and food quality system, complying with any applicable food regulations and striving for continuous improvements in all areas.
Wages:

$27.64 - $30.71
Schedule:

Sun - Thur 8:00pm - 4:30am
Essential Functions:
Lift and dump up to 30 bags of powder weighing up to 55# each in an hour from floor level to a height of 48" and dumped into a high-speed liquefier blender.
Lift over 200 bags in a 10-hour shift.
Work under constant pressure while blending multiple appropriate ingredients (Milk, Cream, Condensed skim, liquid sugar, dry sugar, milk powder, whey powder or various stabilizers.)
Pump liquid ingredients from nine different tank locations into blender or processors.
Route pasteurized product to any one of 12 available tank locations and properly label each tank used with correct product.
Work through constant distractions from all other departments with inquiries about the status of product completion.
Control temperature on HTST system.
Neatly and accurately write product info on recording chart using very small font.
Check pressure on homogenizer regularly.
Regularly check cooling temperature on pasteurized product.
Hook up and sanitize tanks and lines.
Taste all products after being ran.
Taste and test a sample of all products, then document and sign off for release in the Lab.
Weigh out partial powders for mixes.
Stage pallets of powder with forklift and pallet jack.
Test raw milk and cream and retest throughout the day if needed as butterfat levels are changing.
Make up batch sheets.
Communicate with other departments on their needs and adjust run order accordingly.
Adjust start time and work over as needed.
Rinse out tanks for start of clean up.
Finish day off in other departments on short days.
Work with state inspector on quarterly inspections.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Basic computer skills
Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in a cold environment, up to -20 degrees
Good written and oral communications
Good math skills
Ability to work under pressure, with time restraints
Must be dependable and responsible.
Be able to lift 75 lbs.
Be able to spend majority of shift standing & walking
Be self-motivated, able to work alone without direct supervision.
