A privately held manufacturing company based in Berne, Indiana, specializing in the production of high-quality metal fasteners for the automotive industry is looking for a 2nd shift nut former. The job involves setup and operation of single and/or multiple cold heading machines to produce quality products. Plan and perform close tolerance setups with little or no assistance. Use scales, micrometers, dial indicators and fixed gages to check and gage work. Load and unload product in the process using a forklift. Must be able to read and follow process standards, control plans and work instructions. Start machine, observes operation, inspects first run and sample work piece to ensure part conforms to specifications. Remove and install specified tooling at changeovers and make all necessary adjustments.
