Reprographics Operator

A Reprographics Operator operates a variety of photographic and micrographic equipment, including industrial scanners, large engineering electrostatic printers, and card plotters, and similar machines in reproducing plans, charts, maps tracings and other documents; and may act as a lead person directing the work of other Reprographics Operators.
Annual salary is $50,195 to $71,451 and $55,436 to $81,077. The salary in the Department of Water and Power is $68,528 to $85,127; $73,163 to $90,890; $77,318 to $96,048; and $84,459 to $104,922.
One year of full-time paid experience in a micrographic or reprographics facility operating industrial scanners, card plotters, duplicators, electrostatic or related equipment.
Applicants who lack six months or less of the required experience at the time of filing may file for this examination. However, they cannot be appointed until the full experience requirement is met.
As a condition of employment, a valid Class C driver's license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is required at the time of appointment. Applicants will be disqualified and candidates will not be eligible for hire if their DMV record within the last 36 months reflects three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents, or a conviction of a major moving violation such as DUI or DWI in any state or jurisdiction.

The examination will consist entirely of an evaluation of professional and personal qualifications by interview. In the interview, the following competencies may be evaluated: Attention to Detail; Equipment Operation; Responsiveness and Follow-Up; Customer Service; Teamwork; Following Written Directions; and Job Knowledge, including knowledge of: how to operate a personal computer and its functions such as word processing programs, uploading/downloading files, and utilizing e-mail services; identifying flaws when inspecting prints or scans such as smudges, scratches on scanner, or other imperfections; various substrates used for printing; and other necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
