Production Specialist

Responsibilities

Job Summary: As a Production Specialist, you'll ensure all in-store produced items meet high quality standards, product integrity guidelines, and are merchandised in innovative and eye-catching ways. You will assist in preparing food and monitoring production flow and quality of items for sale to new and existing retail customers. You'll provide excellent customer service by performing all responsibilities and job duties with a sense of ownership and team approach.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Cuts, slices, dices, and chops food in the preparation area.
Packages, labels, and displays products on the sales floor
Maintains sanitation in food preparation areas
Mixes, bakes, decorates, and trays / bags product
Weighs, wraps, and uses mandatory PLU codes to label / price packages
Stocks and rotates items as needed
Collaborates with leadership to order product and wrap
Reports missing signs or tags to the Department Manager or Shelf Edge team
Reports all out of date and damaged product received issues to Department Manager
Compliance / Food Safety / Sanitation:
Organizes and cleans prep areas, freezers, coolers, wareroom, and sales floor
Checks shipments for out-of-date and damaged product to ensure freshness and quality
Cleans and sanitizes department, work areas, sales floor, displays cases, prep areas; properly operates / maintains and cleans equipment
Complies with company / store / department operating procedures and federal / state regulations
Customer Service:
Provides excellent customer service by answering product and service-related questions and helping customers
May communicate preparation, safe handling, and nutritional aspects of products to customers as needed
Answers customers questions regarding products and assists them with selections
Stocks/merchandises products effectively to engage customers

Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume environment - Required
Experience in customer service and/or prior food preparation/service - Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of product rotation, department / store sanitation, shrink awareness - Required
Understanding of basic financial workings of the assigned department, and how to drive profitability - Required
Communication skills - Required
Customer service skills - Required
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks - Required
Ability to work a flexible schedule - Required
Education:
Completion of job skills training, compliance-related training, and Division orientation - Required
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Demonstrate the ability to lift 55 lbs, and manage in excess of 85 lbs
