Pipe Welder (Commercial Construction)
Position Summary Hopkins | Lacy, the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) division of Branch is searching for a welder. Welders will weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as piping, machine parts, plant equipment, motors and generators according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities
Welds metal parts together using both gas welding and any combination of arc welding processes
Perform other welding related tasks, including thermal cutting and grinding
Repair/Maintain broken or installed components, fills holes and increases size of metal parts
Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding
Attend to work assignment instructions or to supervisor's orders
Exercise critical thinking and reasoning skills
Execute work-place safety regulations
Gather/Collate/Classify information
Assist in the mentoring, training, and growth of other employee-owners
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency
2 years of prior welding experience
Driver's license
Travel is frequently required to and from job site locations.

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
