Quality Control Technician

The Quality Control Technician in the Quality Control department is tasked with ensuring that the glass fabrication meets high-quality standards while supporting daily production goals, for Cardinal IG, a leading glass fabricator recognized nationally for delivering top-quality insulating glass products for the residential window and door industry.
Essential Functions:
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices and guidelines
Operate High Tech Glass Fabrication Equipment
Ensure open communication with manager and team by ensuring radio remains on while working on the plant floor
Foster strong relationships with our production team to drive a quality improvement culture
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while upholding a high level of professionalism
Responsible for calibration of all equipment and updating the calibration log
Engage in brainstorming sessions and coordinate innovative ideas
Participate in classroom training to enhance skills and develop the ability to train others
Perform routine product and process quality checks to support the BEIG quality control plan
Conduct basic statistical analyses and root cause investigations for quality and production issues
Accurately interpret quality specifications in a timely manner
Ability to use a tape measure and Caliper/SPC
Collaborate with other Quality Technicians, Production Staff, and Production Managers on quality-related matters
Demonstrate a working knowledge of, and consistently comply with, all Cardinal IG Quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure product quality, process adherence, and regulatory compliance
Inspect product for quality to meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectations
Perform housekeeping tasks in the workspace to maintain a clean work area
Escalate quality-related issues to designated personnel or leadership when necessary
Assist the team, leads, and management in achieving departmental objectives
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively
May be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlines
Requires regular in-person attendance
Workplace Environment:
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects
Noise levels can be high and will vary based on the location in the plant
Qualifications:
Consistent work history in glass manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred
Must be 18 years or older
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications / Moderate computer skills
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Quality Control required
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Climbing/ Manipulation/Reaching/Push/Pull/Grip/Pinch

Shift:
2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2:30 PM- 11 PM
Pay: $18.00/hour + $1 Shift Differential
Bonus - Potential Monthly Profit Sharing for all Shifts
