Job Description
Welder Become a key part of a high-performing team in Grand Island, NE at a world-class manufacturer, in a safe and friendly environment! Job duties include:
Read and work from work orders, blueprints, route sheets, and supervisor instructions
Set up welding equipment, fixtures, and positioners per specifications
Weld metal components using wire-feed welding equipment according to layouts, diagrams, and procedures
Adjust amperage and voltage to ensure quality welds at optimal speed
Produce simple to complex weldments, including regular and irregular designs
Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions
Ensure proper fit, alignment, and dimensional accuracy using fixtures and clamps
Guide the welding gun to achieve correct fusion, bead size, and weld quality
Clean and prepare weld joints using wire brushes, grinders, or chemical methods
Cut metal plates or structural shapes using an oxy/acetylene torch when needed
