Plating Technician

Below are the preferred skills, duties, and responsibilities you will have performing as our Plating Technician.
The function of the Plating Technician is to perform metal finishing and electroplating operations to achieve high-quality coatings on parts. This includes preparing surfaces, operating plating equipment, monitoring plating baths, and ensuring finished products meet thickness, appearance, and quality standards. The role requires strict adherence and oversight of safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and production instructions while maintaining accurate records of work performed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Proven experience and understanding of Lockout Tagout, chemical handling, PPE
Awareness of and adherence to confined space rules.
Requirements, and safe operation of relevant tools associated with electroplating.
Must be able to read and follow plating specs, SOPs, blueprints, and thickness requirements.
Ability to prepare metal surfaces: cleaning, polishing, sanding, and chemical treatment.
Attention to detailed and high-quality standards.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and maintain accurate production logs. Strong awareness of chemical handling, safety processes, and PPE requirements.
Inspect and document plated parts for quality, thickness measurements, adhesion, hardness and appearance.
Prepare surfaces of metal parts for plating, including cleaning, polishing, sanding, and degreasing.
Set up and operate electroplating equipment (tanks, racks, fixtures, and other equipment).
Accurately record data as required for Air emissions, requirements, trouble shooting and process improvement
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education:
Required: High School/GED diploma
Preferred: OSHA 10-hour or equivalent safety training.
Preferred: First aid and CPR Certification
Preferred: Environmental compliance certifications (e.g., RCRA, HAZWOPER).
Preferred: Dangerous Goods/Hazardous materials ground transportation certification
Preferred: Chemical Handling Certification
Experience:
Required: 2 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial setting, or chemical process.
Preferred: 2 years of experience in electroplating, hard chrome plating, liquid paint line, Powder Coat paint line, electrostatic paint applications or other metal surface treatment.
Preferred: knowledge of plating chemistry, equipment, and process control.
Preferred: Hands on experience with plating baths, chemical handling, and plating equipment.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Must be able to sign and abide by Company's employee manual and confidentiality agreement
Required to successfully complete a background check, job physical and drug screening
Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic mindset.
A strong passion for firearms, defense technologies, and the shooting sports community is a significant plus.
