Responsibilities:
Operate the vulcanizing tanks
Strip lead from vulcanized products
Laser print cable, prepare and test tensile and elongation samples
Overlook the cable during stripping
Assist the Lead Press and Tuber Operator as needed
Monitor and improve product quality
Monitor and improve operator/machine efficiency
Operate the machine according to machine work instructions/SOP
Produce product "on time" per current work schedule
Comply with all safety rules at all times
Follow all housekeeping practices
Adheres to all AmerCable's Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices
Follows and abides by Mattr's Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards
Preferred skills and qualifications:
Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
Must be able to physically move material, possibly up to 50 lbs.
Good reading comprehension and basic math skills are required.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays.
Must have basic mechanical abilities.
Must take, calculate and record readings with calipers, micrometers and diameter tapes.
Must be able to operate the lead strip machine and work station computer.
Required training includes ISO 9000 principles
