Patient Mobility Assistant
Come join our team as a Patient Mobility Assistant! This position assists patients with transfers and other activities of daily living, provides exercise to inpatients that have or are at risk for debility including walking, deep breathing as well as active and passive range of motion to upper and lower extremities. This position contributes to a safe, motivating, and organized clinical environment for our clients and our team. Full-Time Opportunity
M-F Schedule, 7am-3pm!
What will you be doing in this role?
Transferring patients to and from bed and help patient perform other tasks of daily living.
Walking patients to prevent hospital acquired debility.
Provide passive range of motion exercise to upper and lower extremities of non-responsive, comatose, and sedated patients.
Provide basic active range of motion exercises to upper extremities and lower extremities of patients who can actively participate.
Documenting patient participation and relays to physician under direction of nursing or ProgressiveHealth coordinators.
Pre-screening patients for needed Physical or Occupational Therapy.
Educating hospital personnel on the role and utilization of the Patient Mobility Team.
Reports patient status changes to Registered Nursing or Licensed Therapy staff.
Issuing pre-made exercise handouts for patients to continue exercise.
Communicate with nursing staff, therapy staff and lift team to coordinate schedule of patient activities.
Participates in quality assurance, program evaluation, infection control, and safety issues.
Our ideal candidate would:
Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Have previous experience in a healthcare/medical setting if preferred
Prior degree or certification in exercise, physiology and/or health-related field is preferred; prior nursing or CNA experience is highly preferred
Display a high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
Have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
Demonstrate strong detail orientation with the ability to adapt to change
Be able to maintain confidentiality
Have strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
