Production Operator
Join our Fabrication team as an Production Operator on 1st shift. In this role, you'll work hands-on with glass components, shaping, smoothing, and inspecting them to meet exacting standards. You'll combine technical skill, attention to detail, and precision measurement to ensure every part meets quality requirements.
What You'll Do:
Set up fixtures and secure parts for grinding, polishing, and finishing
Operate both CNC and manual grinding equipment
Mix and maintain polishing compounds and tools
Accurately measure optical and geometric properties of components
Examine surfaces under a microscope to detect imperfections
Follow step-by-step instructions, read technical drawings, and ensure parts meet specifications
Keep your workspace organized, clean, and safe
Record part data and updates in our electronic tracking system
Work in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and safety regulations
What You Bring:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic computer skills (Excel, Word)
Strong communication skills for collaborating with coworkers, engineers, and supervisors
Excellent manual dexterity and a strong work ethic
Sharp eyesight, solid math ability, and meticulous attention to detail
Comfort using measurement tools, reading blueprints, maintaining records, and following organized processes
Extra Credit:
Associate degree or technical training in a related field
Experience in a manufacturing setting, including quality checks and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience in optical fabrication, microscopes, or precision measurement
Background operating grinding, cutting, or polishing machines (manual or CNC)
