Custodian Position
The Custodian ensures cleanliness, safety, and compliance with established standards. This role entails keeping a designated area of a school building clean and ready for students to enter and learn.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work within a team.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform repetitive tasks.
Stamina to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
Comfort working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and dust.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly.
Coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs and specialized cleaning tasks.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Complete training on proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment.
Address any hazards or concerns promptly.
Directly Responsible To:
Supervisor of Custodial Staff
Annual Evaluation:
Completed by the Director of Operations
