General Maintenance Foreperson
Coordinate and oversee General Maintenance Department personnel, 3rd party vendor support, and daily maintenance activities across multiple retail store locations. This role applies best practices to prioritize work, allocate and monitor resources, and coordinate internal technicians and external vendors to ensure safe, reliable, and timely maintenance services that support uninterrupted store operations and facility reliability. This position plays a key role in identifying recurring issues, improving maintenance processes and contributing to overall operational efficiency.
Coordinate and oversee maintenance personnel supporting multiple retail store locations
Receive, evaluate, and prioritize routine and emergency maintenance calls
Assess urgency, impact, and scope of work to ensure timely response and efficient use of resources
Plan, organize, and schedule service work; monitor daily workload and balance manpower against service demand
Adjust staffing, assignments, and priorities to respond to changing conditions and emergency situations
Assist technicians with troubleshooting complex systems and equipment issues
Communicate with store personnel, dispatch, and other departments to identify maintenance needs and service priorities
Work closely with Dispatchers to improve dispatch effectiveness, response times, and job prioritization
Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors to support maintenance activities across assigned locations
Review vendor work for quality, completeness, and compliance with company standards prior to acceptance
Communicate job scope, site conditions, and scheduling requirements to vendors as needed
Report on vendor performance issues, unsafe conditions, or service concerns to supervision
Monitor maintenance activity to identify repeat issues, delays, or resource constraints and report concerns to supervision
Enforce Company policies, procedures, and safety standards across all assigned locations
Administer maintenance safety and training programs and conduct monthly meetings
Evaluate individual technician performance and provide coaching, guidance, and feedback
Clearly communicate job expectations and performance standards to maintenance technicians
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of efficient multi?store maintenance operations
Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction and/or facilities maintenance. Experience supporting multiple locations or high?volume service environments preferred. Demonstrated experience with restaurant equipment and electrical systems. General working knowledge of metal fabrication and light construction trades. Strong organizational, communication, and problem?solving skills. Ability to lead crews and manage competing priorities in a multi?site environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including platforms such as HxGN EAM, ServiceChannel, and Corrigo. Working knowledge of commercial building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems. Strong scheduling, dispatch coordination, and workload management skills in a multi?store environment. Ability to analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and support operational decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools for reporting, tracking workload, vendor activity, and performance metrics.
Required Licenses and Certifications: Valid California Driver License with a clean driving record. Current CPR certification.
