Certified Nursing Assistant

The nursing assistant works under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide direct patient care in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures and protocols. Performs various duties necessary to provide complete care, comfort care, and safety for assigned patients. Such duties include: bathing, oral hygiene, hair care, nail care, elimination, back rubs, assisting patients in and out of bed, assisting with dressing and undressing, changing position of patients, keeping patient's environment neat, clean and safe, performing routine tasks, assisting and/or feeding patients, responding to patients call lights promptly.
Preferred qualifications include completion of a Basic Nursing Assistant Program and ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations for proper patient identification and to take and record weights, intake and output, and vital signs. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and AHA BLS certification required at hire.
Union: CSEA - Civil Service Employees Association (MH)
Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible
Physical requirements include medium work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
Pay range: $19.65 - $28.79
