Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in fabricating or assembling with a keen focus on adhering to schedules, meeting productivity goals, and supporting company policies.
What You'll Do
Assume responsibility for all activities of the plant and plant site. Plans, assigns duties, and supervises employees assigned to the shift, and ensures duties are being performed in accordance with established plant policies and procedures
Actively coach co-workers and communicate with all employees to facilitate positive change and continuous improvement in all processes, including the safety process
Review production schedules and provide staffing recommendations based on product demand. Assists in the selection of employees and the direction and selection of training
Develop, implement, and review employee performance and development plans to assure quality, productivity and delivery goals are met
Promote quality, teamwork, and organizational leadership
Implement process control procedures to ensure quality standards are met
Demonstrate leadership in all areas of production. This requires observing and enforcing rules and practices, encouraging safe and healthy work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors, which may lead to accidents
Take appropriate actions to ensure that resources and efforts remain focused on the achievement of plant financial and operating goals
Provide input on capacity and process capability
Ensure resolution of departmental labor relations issues
Ensure employees report to their jobs in an appropriate mental and physical condition and are ready to work
Promote and support diversity initiatives and equal employment opportunity
Administer company and union work rules, contracts, and procedures
What You'll Bring
Associate or Bachelor degree preferred; experience may be substituted for degree
Ability to be versatile and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Good mechanical aptitude, quality background, lean manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and organizational skills are preferred
Comfortable making decisions and enforcing them, following set guidelines consistently
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
Ability to plan, organize, initiate, and follow up
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Access
