1st Shift Mechanical Assembler (Electromechanical

Medical Devices)

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing medical device assemblies in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires a strong mix of mechanical and electrical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assemble, wire, program, test, and package electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies with minimal supervision
Perform functional testing of systems, components, and subassemblies to ensure compliance with QA standards
Troubleshoot issues, analyze test failures, identify root causes, and perform repairs as needed
Document discrepancies and quality defects accurately within production and quality records
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and production staff to resolve issues
Perform soldering tasks including wire/terminal soldering, through-hole components, and limited SMT work
Participate in cross-training and develop subject matter expertise across multiple production areas
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a strong safety-first mindset
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Skills & Qualifications

3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, electromechanical assembly, or technician roles (preferred)
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, assembly drawings, and bills of materials
Experience using electronic test equipment and hand tools
Proficiency with wiring electrical control and power systems on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies
Strong soldering skills (IPC / J-STD certification a plus)
Computer proficiency including MS Office and basic PC skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy

SMT soldering
Hydraulics and pneumatics
Machine building
Preventive maintenance
Maintenance technician experience
Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience (highly preferred)

This is a Contract position based out of Chanhassen, MN.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
