Track and Trace Clerk - Corporate Office
The Track and Trace Clerk is responsible for monitoring, documenting, and communicating service-impacting transportation delays. This role supports on-time delivery performance by ensuring timely, accurate communication with internal stakeholders, carriers, and warehouses, while maintaining complete and accurate records within transportation systems.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and respond to driver, carrier, warehouse, and internal inquiries through the Late Truck database inbox in a timely and professional manner.
Identify, document, and communicate all service-impacting events accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
Execute the standard process for communicating late truck notifications during daytime operations to Customer Service and internal stakeholders.
Provide clear, timely updates regarding:
Delayed pickups
Delayed deliveries
Appointment risks
Missed shipping or delivery windows
Escalate complex, high-impact, or time-sensitive on-time delivery (OTD) issues to the OTD Supervisor as appropriate.
Partner with carriers to obtain accurate and timely shipment status updates.
Ensure all communications, decisions, and load updates are accurately recorded in the Transportation Management System (TMS) and applicable internal tracking tools.
Support additional projects or duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Demonstrated analytical skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to adapt to frequent changes in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including data entry.
At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $16.25-$24.00 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
