The Tides Inn is a beloved waterfront, luxury resort nestled on Carter's Creek in Irvington, Virginia. The property has been a cherished destination for generations and has recently undergone a number of renovations and enhancements that are helping elevate the brand and overall experience. The Tides features 70 luxurious accommodations, tennis and pickleball courts, wellness treatments, a working farm, Markers Space (for artistic activities), its own marina and two distinct restaurants, Salt & Meadow Restaurant and Fish Hawk Oyster Bar. As it has evolved, the Tides Inn is becoming more widely recognized for its elite programming, culinary experiences, commitment to environmental stewardship, and world-class hospitality.
Job Summary
To greet guests and assist them with their luggage, vehicle, and arrival / departure experience. Escort guests to their room and detail room amenities. Efficiently, courteously and professionally, maintain a high standard of service and hospitality. Transport Tides Inn team members to and from team member housing at Taylor Creek to the Tides Inn and provide transportation to other locations as assigned by the Guest Services Manager, if necessary.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Regular and Reliable Attendance is an essential function of this role. Providing the hotel guest with superior customer service experience by greeting guests upon arrival. Valet Park guest cars. Escort guests to their rooms and deliver their baggage, providing information about room amenities, the Tides Inn Resort and other area attractions. Transport resort guests to other locations whenever needed. Pick up and deliver the guest's laundry and ensure that the charges are posted to the guest's account. Ensure the lobby, pool and ground areas are neat at all times. Assist departing guests with luggage. Keep lobby fireplaces lit, when appropriate. Take outgoing mail to the post office when business allows. Run any errands as requested by management at that time. Bell stand should be staffed to open the lobby doors, being available for any guest requests and questions. Be sure vans and carts are kept clean, in good repair and inspected daily. Assist with snow removal whenever necessary. Know the layout of the property and all accommodations. Greeting and treating all guests with courtesy and respect. Have a thorough knowledge of all dining areas and activities of the resort. Make all special deliveries to the rooms (flowers, wine, fruit baskets, etc.) and complete the appropriate paperwork for distribution of gratuities. Ensure that guests are aware of necessary safety precautions such as emergency exits, locations of flashlights, fire extinguishers, etc. and assist guests if necessary. Will be cross trained in basic check-in and check-out procedures at the front desk to ensure a speedy check-in and check-out experience. Must always be well groomed and presentable in company issued uniform with name tag. Must observe safety and respect for company and guests' property and equipment. Perform any requests directed by management.

Qualifications
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Valid driver's license Clean driving record that meets the Fleet Policy standard. Exceptional Customer Service Skills Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. At least 21 years old. Must have effective communication skills.
