What You'll Do
Assist the Physical Therapist in conducting evaluations and assessments of residents' physical abilities and limitations
Implement therapeutic interventionssuch as exercises, modalities, and manual techniquesas directed by the Physical Therapist
Provide guidance and instruction to residents on proper exercise techniques, safe mobility practices, and use of assistive devices
Monitor residents' progress, reporting observations to the Physical Therapist for treatment plan adjustments
Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation of resident care in compliance with regulations
Collaborate with nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, resident-centered service
Prepare treatment areas and maintain therapy equipment in proper working condition
Maintain an average "Patient Care Time" (productivity) of greater than 90%
Perform other duties as assigned to support quality care delivery
What We're Looking For
Current Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing (or compact state equivalent)
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Previous experience in rehabilitation or a long-term care setting preferred
Strong clinical skills and ability to follow treatment plans with precision
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Compassionate, resident-first approach
Proficiency with electronic health records and therapy documentation
